Home / Global Challenges in an Uncertain World

The XXIX Blanquerna Days Conference for Communication and International Relations, taking place on March 6, 7 and 8, will be focused on “Global challenges in an uncertain world”. In these three-day conferences, we will try to make sense of our increasingly complex and interconnected world and to identify and understand what are the major challenges that threaten our present and our future. Special attention will be paid to the 75th anniversary of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, but also to the political and social consequences of climate change, the threats and opportunities that technology poses to democracy, the rise of far-right political movements, the current mental health crisis, the war in Ukraine and the persistent discrimination and violence against women.

With the help of prestigious academics, professionals, artists and alumni, we will seek to reflect together on how to address these and other threats. We will discuss alternative economic and industrial policies, calculate the risks of post-humanism, explore how to foster a culture of peace, and seek to understand the role that music, film, and the video game industry can play in rising political awareness.
