Digital Culture and Religion in Rome
RISECI was at the in Santa Croce Conference from 28-30 April in Rome. The member of Observatori Blanquerna on Communication, Religion and Culture, Dr. Jordi Sànchez Torrents gave a presentation on the Digital Culture and Religion in the IX Professional Seminar for Church Communications Offices.
Jordi Sànchez spoke about the possibilities of digital culture and the way new technologies are transforming religion.
Titled Church Communications: Creative Strategies for Promoting Cultural Change, the Seminar aimed to provide “positive experiences and networking opportunities among communication professionals as well as tools for debating and communicating the faith in the public sphere”.
During the first day, there was a speech by Card. Timothy M. Dolan, Archbishop of New York, who discussed the Cultural Challenges for Church Communicators. Among others moreover, were speeches by Card. Philipe Barbarin, Archbishop of Lyon and Prof. Joaquín Navarro-Valls, former Vatican Spokesman.
